Some people may associate the 5th November with Guy Fawkes Night and fireworks but in Orange County, California it means just one thing – the Vans Girls Combi Pool Classic is about to explode into our lives!
This was the second time the event has run (Lizzie Armanto took top spot in 2010) and the prize purse was a tasty $10,000. Cara Beth Burnside and Mimi Knoop heled organise the event in conjunction with the Vans crew and World Cup Skateboarding guys. As you’d expect the qulity of skating was off the chart and the results were as follows:
1st. Allysha Bergado
2nd. Mimi Knoop
3rd. Lizzie Armanto
4th. Julz Lynn
5th. Amelia Brodka
Congratulations to Allysha on the first pro win of her career in what we hear was a highly competitive contest. It was great to see so many girls entering the amateur event aswell and the crowd support was excellent. This is definitely one of those comps that is growing from strength to strength and we can’t wait till next year!
Have a look at Mimi’s blog here for some great pictures and more info.
